The annual MS Readathon 2023 will be starting soon. Bookworms – get your reading wiggle on for a great cause! It’s MS Readathon Time!

MS READaTHON’s story began in 1988 when the well-loved children’s author Roald Dahl launched the first ever campaign. Now the MS Readathon is over 35 years old with thousands of children taking part each year.

The MS Readathon encourages children to open a wonderful world of adventure and imagination through reading for a great cause.

For kids who are already bookworms, it’s a chance to perhaps challenge themselves with longer, more advanced books.

For children who aren’t so keen on reading, the MS Readathon can help them rediscover the wonder they felt when they first heard those magic words “Once upon a time…”.

The MS Readathon will take place from 1st – 30th November 2023.

How to Take Part in MS Readathon

Taking part in the MS Readathon is easy – just sign up at www.msreadathon.ie and start reading. Children can register with their school (teachers, you can register your class) or individually.

Your child can pick whatever books they like, and as many as they like, then ask friends and family to sponsor them. After November 30th this money should be sent back to MS Ireland.

And for participating schools around the country, the MS Readathon website has lots of teacher resources to print and lesson plans to use.
