#1. Guess the Number of Eggs

Guess the eggs for Easter games - Mykidstime

This is one of those Easter games that we’re pretty sure all kids (and adults) will be happy to take part in! Fill a jar with mini easter eggs and have each child guess how many eggs are in the jar to win a prize.

(Then divide up the spoils between them all!)

#2. Play Bunny, Bunny, RABBIT!

If your kids have plenty of energy to burn, this is the game for them! As you’ve probably guessed, this is an Easter variation on the classic duck, duck, GOOSE game.

Here’s how to play:

  1. Sit the kids down in a circle;
  2. Select one child to be “it”;
  3. The “it” child walks around the outside of the circle patting each player on the head and saying “bunny” until they want to say “RABBIT”;
  4. Both the “it” child and the RABBIT must hop around the circle trying to reach the vacant spot;
  5. Whoever doesn’t make it to the spot in time is then “it”.

#3. Easter Egg Race

Let all the race participants decorate their own hard boiled egg with paint, glitter etc. Then hand them all a soup spoon and let them race off on the predetermined course.

The winner will be the one who reaches the finish line first without dropping their egg.

#4. Egg Bowling

Egg Bowling can be played either outdoors or indoors. Each player has a coloured boiled egg and a plain white boiled egg is used for the target. Everyone sees who can roll their egg closest to the white egg without touching it.

You can play e.g. 5 or 10 rounds as well to get to a winner.

#5. Hot Boiled Egg

This game is a variation of Pass the Parcel or Hot Potato. You’ll need a plastic egg taped shut with something in it to pass around.

When the music starts, the players pass the “hot boiled egg” around the circle. When the music stops, the person left holding the egg is out. Play continues until only one person is left, and that person is the winner.

#6. Play Bunny Tag

Kids get a ton of exercise when they play bunny tag. Pick one child to be the dog chasing the other kids, who are the bunnies. The bunnies hop away from the fast-walking dog.

If they are caught, they crouch down and use their arms to make bunny ears atop their head until the game is finished. The last bunny caught becomes the dog during the next round.

#7. Go on an Easter Scavenger Hunt

A much loved activity in my house, scavenger hunts are great fun!

Hunt for daffodils, hidden eggs, chocolates, letters to spell out E-A-S-T-E-R, or anything yellow….Let the theme be Easter and off you go!

#8. Pin the Tail on the Bunny

Easter games that get the whole family involved are lots of fun, and Pin the Tail on the Bunny is just that. Start by printing an Easter bunny on cardboard with the tail area visible. Then cut off the tail area. Each player must cut out a circle from white card and glue some cotton wool to it.

Stick some blue-tack to the back of each tail and write each players name on their tail. Each player is to be blind folded before they take their turn of attempting to pin the tail on the bunny.

#9. Play Easter Grocery Shop

Set up an Easter Grocery shop in your kitchen with tins and packets. One child can be the shopper and the other can be the grocer.

Have fun making a list and shopping and then swap roles.

#10. Easter Egg Balance

Grab some kitchen utensils, such as a soup ladle, dessert spoon, wooden spoon and potato masher, and a few hard boiled eggs. You can decorate the eggs by painting them first.

Ask your kids to choose a utensil and try to balance the egg on top of it and proceed to cross to the other side of the room. Once they have tried all the utensils ask them which they prefer and why.

#11. Easter Relay Race

Hold a relay race with 2 teams each person takes it turn to run around the garden with obstacles to go around or climb over while holding a spoon and egg.

First team with all its members back and eggs intact wins.

#12. Easter Egg Toss

You will need plastic Easter eggs and a basket. Using colourful adhesive tape, draw a line on the floor. Children must stand behind this line. Draw another line a short distance away and deposit the basket near this line. Give each child five eggs.

Children take turns throwing their eggs towards the basket. The child who successfully throws the most eggs in the basket wins.
