Summer Stars National Reading Adventure 2023

The Summer Stars reading programme runs in public libraries throughout Ireland during summer, from June until the end of August. All children throughout the country are invited to join the adventure and to enjoy the fun and pleasure of reading and writing over the summer. Summer Stars is non-competitive and every child who reads even one book / ebook is regarded as having completed the programme – and it’s all completely free!

Each child who registers for the programme at their local library joins in the fun of reading lots of exciting books during the summer.

Children can sign up for the programme in their local library at the start of the summer and are encouraged to read as many books as they can during the months of July and August.

Track your reading progress with reading cards which can be marked each time a book is read, online or in print form. These are available from your local library or for download and print here.
