Aroma Coffee Shop, Donegal Craft Village
My personal favourite! Aroma Coffee Shop at the Craft Village is not very spacious, so more suitable for older children. Perfect if you want to stop off for a soup or sandwich. freshly baked bread daily.
The Harbour, Donegal Town
There’s a comprehensive menu at The Harbour, including seafood, steaks and pasta dishes. Very welcoming to families. toys provided for younger children and colouring material for older children. It has its own pizzeria, which can be seen at the back of the restaurant – great entertainment for the children to watch!
Blueberry Tea Room, Donegal Town
Blueberry Tea Room is definitely not suitable for buggies! But a great spot none-the-less with helpful staff and tasty food. As it is very popular though, avoid peak times unless you are willing to wait for a table. There is no way you can leave here without having one of their homemade desserts…
The Rusty Mackerel, Teelin
It is well worth a stop off at The Rusty Mackerel en-route to the Sliabh Liag cliffs. There is seating indoors and out and the menu showcases the delicious seafood that Donegal is renowned for. Be sure to order the chowder and you can’t go wrong with the monkfish and prawn main course! They have a kids menu too and some very tasty desserts! It does get busy during the holidays, so book in advance to be sure to get a table.
