The Fastnet Rock Lighthouse is a famous landmark that can be seen from the hotel. It sits just off the coast and stands at 54 metres tall. It is known as Ireland’s Teardrop, due to it being the last thing many emigrants saw when leaving Ireland on ships and emigrating to the USA and further afield.

Visitors can circumnavigate it on one of the ferries that offer tours of the local area.

A visit to Schull would not be complete without a trip to see Arran Street East, a pottery studio and shop that sells handmade ceramics and textiles and have a wonderful line-up of workshops right through the summer months.

Schull Farmer’s Market is held every Sunday from Easter to the end of September. Here you will find a variety of locally produced and grown products from cheese to honey, sweet and savoury baked goods to fresh fruit and vegetables, pottery, clothing, jewellery, arts and crafts stalls and much more.

Open from 10am to 2pm each Sunday in season.

There are several companies offering boat tours of the Mizen Peninsula passing through Roaring Bay Waters and out to Cape Clear Island where you can visit the Cape Clear and Fastnet Rock Heritage Centre, before continuing to sail around the famous lighthouse.
